[Hello Barge, there is a new Inmate, but unlike most, he's not going to let on that he has no idea where he's at or why he's here instead of on his ship or dead. Instead, he's just going to be calm and collected as he addresses everyone.]

Good afternoon, everyone. My name is Malcolm Reed and I am a new arrival here. I do hope that we will be able to get along. It would be quite a shame otherwise.

[There is a short pause as he seems like he's considering something.]

Not to be a bother, but does anyone have some advice about here that may be helpful to me? If not, I'm sure I can figure things out on my own.

The same as you, I presume. [Lol sob. :c] I made a deal with the Admiral to serve here.

[Sigh. :c] Two years and five months.

The Admiral rarely brings in wardens with all the information they'll require. Are you still in need of a status report?

There is a great deal of work to be done here.

Several events are common here, the most frequent of which is the flood. These are not typical floods; there is no water involved, simply the sudden on rush of some manner of change. Occasionally the effects are behavioral; sometimes they are physical.

From time to time, we put in to port; these are frequently dangerous, though occasionally they are simple, and act as a mechanism to allow wardens and inmates to 'recharge.' These are fewer, and more often revolving around some ancient human holiday.

Unfortunately the patterns are limited. I studied the floods for more than a year; they usually occur every second week, but that is not always held to; sometimes we may see only one flood in a month, others a port will replace a flood. There is little physical evidence.

I researched what I could. I've since moved my attentions to the area of space we occupy. [And since that involves space walks and being tethered to the deck, she probs shouldn't tell him. :c]

[And then the Barge would crash going after her. COME UP WITH A PLOT.]

That we do not occupy normal space. We may not even be operating under the same set of physical laws.
